Reminder:  Please do not use the upper community center parking lot for school drop off/pick up or parking.

For your information - Mr. McGill is working with city officials to help eliminate/reduce line cutting on the city street.  Once a plan is approved you will be informed of any change in procedures.  Please be respectful to others and follow the currently approved route for drop off/pick up that includes turning near city hall and driving past the tennis courts.

quizMCES Quiz Bowl team won 1st place in the 1A Regional Quiz Bowl Tournament. The team is comprised of Katie Corriveau, Dain Poff, Mykah Thompson, Levi Garrison, Cadie Moore, Luke Hudgins, Emma Morgan, and Charley Anderson. They are coached by Lindsey Ashcraft and Ame Andrews. They will compete in the state competition on March 26th.  Way to go!!

We are excited to announce that three MCHS Choir students were accepted to perform with an International Honors Choir. Sydney Siler, a sophomore, was selected to perform with the Honors Performance Series Choir at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia.  Harper Haynes, & Kennedy Livernois, both freshmen, were selected to perform with the Honors Performance Series Choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City.   We are extremely proud of these talented young ladies who will be representing MCHS on the global stage!  To learn more about the Honors Performance Series or to help the girls fund their trips, please visit https://myjava3.wixsite.com/hpsfundraiser

Nurse's Note:  We are in the midst of flu season. This is the time for everyone to be sure they remain at home when they experience signs of illness. Staying away from others is the best way to stop the spread of disease, no matter what kind of illness is being experienced. kindMCHS Counseling Department is hosting an assembly that addresses girl against girl bullying called the "Kind Campaign" on February 21st from 9 - 11 a.m. for MCHS girls in grades 6th-12th.  Channel 7 will be joining us to feature this representation of solidarity as we challenge the schools around Arkansas to host similar events in their community.  We believe that this national campaign can be the catalyst for change here at home.  Parents are welcome to join us as we challenge our girls and girls around Arkansas to "Find Kind" together!

Sports News:

Student vs Faculty basketball game will be March 9th, 2018 in the MCHS gym at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $5 and go on sale February 26th, 2018. Tickets can be purchased during lunch from Coach Owen, Coach Sensabaugh, or Coach Heslep.

 

Vollyball – Girls in 6th-11th grade needs to see Coach Owen. Signup by February 26th, 2018. Volleyball tryouts will be held on March 10th, 2018 at 2 pm in the high school gym. Girls need to be at the gym that day no later than 1:30 pm and will need to wear athletic attire, tennis shoes, and must have knee pads. 

 

Lady Falcon Basketball – 2018-2019 Lady Falcon basketball tryouts will be held on April 7th, 2018 at 3pm in the MCHS gym. Any girl in the 6th-11th grade that is interested in playing will need to see Coach Owen. The signup sheet will be posted out in front of the main high school office starting March 26th, 2018. Anyone trying out will need to be at the gym no later than 2:30 pm. Girls must wear athletic attire and tennis shoes.

The Annual Meeting for Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APSCI) will be held on May 14, 2018, in the conference room of the administration office at 600 Edgewood Drive, Maumelle, AR.  The primary purpose for the annual meeting will be to finalize the election of the board of trustees.

Peewee basketball students and parents:

From the Athletic Handbook:

  • A student must attend school to participate.

A student must be in attendance at school as specified in the MCHS handbook in order to participate in athletic events. Per the Arkansas Activities Association requirement a student athlete can not miss more than two (2) class periods in one school day to be eligible to participate in the athletic event that day. Any student that is participating in the elementary basketball program cannot miss more than half the school day to be eligible to participate in any elementary basketball event scheduled the next day (Saturday) or the day of.

 

We also need volunteers to man the concession stand for the Maumelle Charter Elementary games!

If you want to go to lunch with your child please bring your ID and check in at the office.

 

LunchMCHS Lunch Drop-Off Policy

Please go to front office to receive a visitor badge.  You will need to hand deliver the lunch to your student in the cafeteria right before your child’s lunch starts.

*Food/Drinks cannot be left unsupervised for the safety of our students.

Middle School Lunch (6th - 8th): 11:30am - 12:00pm

High School Lunch (9th - 12th): 12:20pm - 12:50pm

If you are unable to do this, please put money into your child’s account to purchase a lunch from the cafeteria.
