Dear Parents and Students,
As we approach the end of the semester, we want to ensure everyone is prepared for Semester Exams, which will take place Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, 2026. Please review the important information below regarding exam expectations, exemptions, and scheduling.

Semester Exam Exemption Policy
Per our student handbook (page 40), students may qualify for exemption from Spring semester exams on a class-by-class basis if they meet ALL of the following criteria:
Maintain a 90% average or higher for the semester
Have zero unexcused absences and no more than 3 excused absences in the class
(Three tardies equal one absence)
Have not been suspended (in-school or out-of-school)
Additional guidelines:
Students must be enrolled for the entire semester to qualify
Students transferring mid-semester are not eligible for exemptions
School business absences do not count toward absence totals
Teachers will determine and communicate exemption status for each class
Students may choose to take the exam even if exempt
Important:
Teachers will notify students of their exemption status no later than May 5th.
Any questions regarding exemption eligibility should be directed to the individual classroom teacher.
Students who will be absent any of these days MUST contact each teacher for a makeup date for their semester exams.
Please note:
Exemptions do not apply to Virtual Arkansas courses, Concurrent Credit courses, or AP Exams.
AP Exams & Scheduling Conflicts
AP Exams will take place during the same week. If a student must miss an MCHS semester exam due to a scheduled AP exam, they must coordinate with their teacher to schedule a makeup exam time on Thursday or Friday.
Breakfast Schedule
To maintain a quiet and focused testing environment:
Second Chance Breakfast will NOT be available during exam week
Breakfast will still be served daily from 7:30–8:00 a.m. in the cafeteria.
We are proud of the hard work our students have put in this semester and encourage them to finish strong. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Thank you for your continued support!
