The Department of Education recently recognized three Maumelle Charter students. Harper Isbell (3rd), Adelyn Goucher (5th), and Audie Abernathy (9th) were selected to have their ornament designs on display at the Arkansas State Capitol. Congratulations! We are so proud of you!
The following information was sent from the department:
"Dear Educators,
Thank you for participating in the Arkansas Celebrates America250 State Ornament Project. We were truly amazed by the creativity, craftsmanship, and pride demonstrated by Arkansas students. It has been an honor to provide an opportunity to showcase the incredible talent of students from across our state.
We are excited to share that the full ornament display is now installed and open to the public at the Arkansas State Capitol. The collection is showcased in the Old Supreme Court Room and will remain available for public viewing through mid-January. In addition to the physical display, the ornaments are also featured in our new digital gallery. You and your students can explore the full collection at america250.ade.arkansas.gov. We are grateful for your support of ACA250 and for the meaningful learning experiences you have made possible in Arkansas classrooms."

When there is a possibility of school closure or delay, please watch for a text/email from the school. We will also notify the local TV stations (4, 7, 11, & 16). On the TV look for MAUMELLE CHARTER SCHOOLS or SCOTT CHARTER SCHOOL. One school could be open and the other closed. Every effort will be made to make a decision no later than 6:15 a.m. on the day a closing or delay may occur. We have several options concerning the closing/opening/delay of school. They are as follows:
1. Closed. (No school and evening events are cancelled, i.e. ball games, PTO meetings, etc.).
2. 1 hr. delay. (All morning activities are delayed 1 hour. No breakfast served).
3. 2 hr. delay. (All morning activities are delayed 2 hours. No breakfast served).
4. Open as normal. No text/email message or TV notification. Do not expect notification if we are open as normal.
Our goal is to have school open when at all possible, but the safety of students, staff and parents is the priority. There may be times when we do something different than surrounding school districts. Please make sure you watch for your school on the TV and be alert for a school email/text.

🍁 Leaf Man Adventures in Mrs. Holland’s Class! 🍂
After reading Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert, our class was inspired to go on a leaf hunt of our own! The students gathered beautiful fall leaves and used them to create their very own Leaf Men. They gave each one a name and imagined where their Leaf Man would travel—because, as the story says, “Leaf Man will go where the wind blows!” 🌬️🍃

We’re excited to share our new academic vocabulary routine that launched in the first quarter of the 2025–2026 school year! Each week, your child’s grade level is learning one to two special “MasterWords” designed to boost their academic language skills. Throughout the week, students engage in fun and meaningful vocabulary activities and practice using these words during class discussions. Strong vocabulary helps students succeed across all subjects and build confidence in their learning. Be sure to ask your student about their MasterWords each week — it’s a great way to support their growth at home! Together, we’re building a community where every child can thrive.
