Literature circles are a fun and engaging way for students to explore books together in small groups. It's a collaborative approach to reading where each student plays an active role in discussing and understanding a book. Literature circles are student-led and give students the chance to think critically about what they’re reading, express their ideas, and learn from others.

Students in Mrs. Andrews' class participated in the Floating Paper Clip Challenge. The challenge was to cause a paperclip to float by using magnetic force to balance the force of gravity acting on the paperclip. They had previously explored that two forces can act on an object at the same time. Using the given materials students constructed a device to gain experience with the practice of planning investigations. After many different trials, they were all successful in making a paperclip float.
