Students from MCMS and MCHS participated in the Maumelle Charter Schools Science Fair this morning. Winners will advance to the Central Arkansas Regional Science and Engineering Fair at UALR. Thank you to our community volunteers for judging each project!

MCMS EAST Students recently won an award at the Arkansas Municipal League Winter Conference for their work with the City of Maumelle as they assisted in educating residents on a new platform used to report problems. Great Job!

Our EAST students competed in Capture the Flag at Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative last week — they had a fantastic time and made us proud!

🟩They were the only middle school represented among 31 teams.
🟥Our 6th grade girls placed 13th of 31 and made history as the 4th group out of 400 teams ever to open one of the lockers.
🟩Our boys finished 24th and 25th out of 31.

Reminder: Maumelle Charter is now cashless when it comes to entry, only cards will be accepted at the door.

When there is a possibility of school closure or delay, please watch for a text/email from the school. We will also notify the local TV stations (4, 7, 11, & 16). On the TV look for MAUMELLE CHARTER SCHOOLS or SCOTT CHARTER SCHOOL. One school could be open and the other closed. Every effort will be made to make a decision no later than 6:15 a.m. on the day a closing or delay may occur. We have several options concerning the closing/opening/delay of school. They are as follows:

1. Closed. (No school and evening events are cancelled, i.e. ball games, PTO meetings, etc.).
2. 1 hr. delay. (All morning activities are delayed 1 hour. No breakfast served).
3. 2 hr. delay. (All morning activities are delayed 2 hours. No breakfast served).
4. Open as normal. No text/email message or TV notification. Do not expect notification if we are open as normal.

Our goal is to have school open when at all possible, but the safety of students, staff and parents is the priority. There may be times when we do something different than surrounding school districts. Please make sure you watch for your school on the TV and be alert for a school email/text.

Our 5th graders are stepping into the role of water resource engineers in Mrs. Jones’ and Ms. Burk’s classrooms! Students have been collaborating to tackle the challenge of water shortages by designing and building their own freshwater collection systems!
