Dear MCMS Families,
I am pleased to formally announce the appointment of Ms. Elise Cawthon as our new 6th grade ELA/SS teacher. A proud graduate of Maumelle Charter, Ms. Cawthon earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas. After completing her studies, she taught 7th grade math for two years before returning to MCMS this fall as a substitute teacher. In her spare time Ms. Cawthon enjoys hiking and quilting. We are thrilled to welcome her back to our school community.

Good evening, attached you will find two graphics detailing the upcoming events over the next month or so, as well as the Homecoming festivities for next week. The first semester awards ceremony will be Jan. 15th. 4th and 5th grade will begin at 1:30, and 6th and 7th grade will begin at 2:30.

For World Kindness Day, SGA students were spreading joy and positivity yesterday morning by greeting students with heartfelt posters and kindness cards. Whether it was a simple note or an inspiring quote, each card served as a small but meaningful gesture to brighten someone's day and create a ripple effect of goodwill. It was a beautiful reminder that a little kindness can go a long way!

Ms. Blakely and Ms. Robertson each had their very own special veterans come visit their classes on Monday. Ms. Blakely’s father was a pilot in the US Airforce and Ms. Robertson’s father was a Senior Chief in the Navy. Thank you, both, for your service!

Please join us for our annual Title I Meeting on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Maumelle Charter Middle School cafeteria.

Falcon Families,
In the United States, Patriot Day occurs on September 11th of each year in the memory of the people impacted from the events on September 11, 2001.
MCES, MCMS and MCHS will be honoring those people by wearing red, white, and blue.
*As always, free dress days must abide by the handbook. If a student does not wish to participate, regular school uniform must be worn.
Thank you!

Out of an abundance of caution, we will not be allowing visitors on campus for lunch today, as we focus on ensuring safety for all students.
